The stitch can be changed from Full Penetration for each stitch (1 to 1) or Full Penetration for every other stitch (2 to 1).

Sounds good, but WHAT does that mean?

1 to 1 Stitch means that EVERY stitch penetrates ALL layers of your fabric. This is generally used where STRENGTH is a PRIMARY Consideration in places like draperies or mens pants bottoms.

2 to 1 Stitch is more commonly used because only Every OTHER stitch penetrates ALL layers of fabric. This is generally used where APPEARANCE is a PRIMARY Consideration in highly visible places on apparel or garments like Ladies Skirts or Blouses. This looks better because only half of the stitches penetrate thru the outside visible layer of fabric. Very little if any of your stitch will be visible on the outside of your garment.

Why is this Machine called a BLINDSTITCH?

Because if the "Penetration" Dial is set correctly and the "Stitch Selector" is set to "2 to 1" and the thread is the same color as the fabric, You WILL NOT SEE the STITCH on the outside of the garment. So it is a "BLINDSTITCH"
